We are proud to have so many beverage members in our network making so much positive change. In November, four members and a nonprofit partner got together at Brooks Winery and talked about joining 1% for the Planet and using business to make positive change. Representatives from Brooks Winery, Hopworks Urban Brewery, Trisaetum, Brew Dr. Kombucha, and Kiss the Ground spoke at the event and gave a look inside what it means to be part of the 1% for the Planet network. Taylor Herren, Development Director at Kiss the Ground, discussed how the nonprofit supports farmers in the midwest. To do this, the nonprofit provides free agricultural education to farmers based on their individual needs. Then, soil health testing and follow-ups from qualified consultants help keep farms on the right track. Brooks Winery partners with Kiss the Ground as part of their 1% commitment to help fund these educational opportunities. When businesses and nonprofits work together, big change can be made. Whether they are producing wine, beer, or kombucha, the beverage members in our network are making lasting change on a global scale.
