Ship to Shore Traveler has had a long term with partnership and help support efforts of The South Georgia Heritage Trust in eradicating invasive rodents.The invasive species were able to thrive on the island and thus put the native species at risk because of increased competition over scarce resources. The island is now rodent-free, following an international effort that dates back a decade. Using poisoned bait strewn from aircraft and three sniffer dogs, the team confirmed that nearly 400 square miles have been cleared.
