Recognizing the effects of climate change on their shellfish farms, seven shellfish growers teamed up to help mitigate the devastating impacts. They formed the Shellfish Growers Climate Coalition (SGCC) where they work collectively to push for climate policy change by sharing stories of how climate change has directly impacted their businesses.
Fishers Island Oyster Farm was one of the initial 7 founding members of the coalition. Since its inception, the coalition has grown to include over 100 members from all over the country and have worked tirelessly to advocate for climate policy change.
