Europe’s New Wild

Letting Nature Take Care of Itself

1% for the Planet nonprofit member Rewilding Europe is focused on making Europe a wilder place. Rewilding is the process of taking a step back and letting nature take care of itself. Of course, we can give nature a hand by removing dams, reintroducing native species that were diminished by humans, and taking care of our wild spaces. But leaving nature to manage itself can be an incredibly powerful way to restore the wild.

Europe’s New Wild

To share their mission and show Europe’s wild spaces, Rewilding Europe is collaborating with National Geographic, Off the Fence, and Bonne Pioche Television to launch a new TV series ‘Europe’s New Wild’. The show will be broadcast worldwide, telling the story of the recovery of nature and return of wild animal species across Europe. Restoration across the continent will be featured, including that of the the Iberian Lynx, the rarest cat in the world.

Across the Iberian peninsula, food chains and ecosystems are being restored allowing a host of endangered animals, including the Iberian Lynx to flourish once again.
