Finlandia is committed to creating a quality vodka in harmony with nature. Recently redesigned, the Finlandia bottle reduces packaging weight by 13%, saving energy and raw materials. The distillation process utilizes bioenergy and recycling, which combines nature and technology to create a sustainable system. The company also has a plan to become carbon neutral by 2025. In addition to their own commitments, Finlandia also encourages others to take action at home and make small changes to help the environment.
Finlandia’s sustainability tips, shared by Pekka Pellinen, Global Master Mixologist:
Here are some more of Finlandia’s best tips on how to Cocktail 1% better at home:
- Use old wine to make syrups for cooking or cocktails
- Use your imagination! Getting creative with things already in your kitchen cuts back on food waste and is a fun way to mix things up
- Add some water (or a little bit of Finlandia) to the bottom of your honey jar and shake up to get the last of your honey. Use for a syrup and add to some lemonade!
- Reuse old bottles for homemade creations, bulk store buys, to keep plants, or anything else you can think of!
