In August of 2020, 4ocean will be removing their 10,000,000th pound of trash from the oceans or coastlines. It’s a huge feat that has only taken 3 years of cleaning to accomplish. Along the way, 4ocean has donated over $650,000 to nonprofits that fight to protect the oceans we love or the animals that call them home. In addition, 4ocean makes it a priority to leverage our platforms for good by raising awareness about ocean plastic pollution in general, encouraging our followers to support legislation such as the Break Free From Plastic Pollution Act, providing tips on how to life single-use plastic free in your daily life, and much more. Finally, 4ocean has made it a point to be climate positive in how they operate. They’ve worked with SeaTrees to offset any carbon footprint we’ve created with our boats, vehicles, or product shipping.
It is 4Ocean’s mission is to end the ocean plastic crisis. For every product purchased, 4ocean will pull out one pound of trash from oceans around the world. Mainly focusing on bracelets, their original product, each item has an environmentally and socially responsible supply chain and is designed with an oceans-first mentality. All of the money generated from product sales goes back into the organization’s cleanup operation including equipment, technology innovation, product development, vessels, staffing, education programs, advocacy efforts and more. They have teams collecting ocean plastic in Bali, Florida, Haiti, and Guatemala, where they provide meaningful employment for local people and involve the communities in their cleanup and education efforts.
